The World Doesn’t Need Men Anymore… Now What?
Life Can Feel Very Lonely
Working from home can be isolating. The days blur together. Conversations are reduced to emails, Slack messages, or a quick Teams call. It’s not the same as real human connection.
Meanwhile, AI is now more intelligent than 91% of the population. In a couple of years, it’ll reach 100%. Jobs that once felt secure are now at risk. The political world is unpredictable, the economy is shifting, and the future feels uncertain.
It can feel like everything is changing too fast to keep up. Today I’ll talk about why this is happening, the problems for men, and what we can do to survive.
Men Are Now Pointless… So We’re Told
For centuries, men found meaning in their roles—workers, fathers, providers, protectors. But now, many of those roles are disappearing.
- White-collar work? AI is taking over.
- Impregnation? Stem cells might replace the need for sperm.
- Fatherhood? Social media disrupts real family connection.
- Manual labour? Automation is eliminating jobs.
- Being the main earner? Universal Basic Income is on the horizon.
- Even taking the trash out? Now it’s all about recycling.
Some of this is tongue-in-cheek 😉—but there’s a serious point underneath. If men are no longer “needed” in traditional ways, what happens next?
The Crisis of Purpose
Men need purpose. We’re wired to do, build, and create. When that purpose is stripped away, life becomes harder. Motivation fades. Mental health deteriorates. The statistics back this up; men who rigidly cling to traditional masculinity without adapting face higher risks of depression, anxiety, and even suicide.
The good news? You don’t have to passively accept these changes. You can adapt and change what being a man means for you in today’s world.
How to Adapt and Thrive
Instead of resisting change, future men like you need to take action and build a new sense of purpose.
1. Body – Build Strength, Build Resilience
Physical health is the foundation of mental well-being. Regular exercise improves mood, reduces anxiety, and boosts confidence. Strength training, martial arts, or endurance sports can also reconnect men with a sense of discipline and mastery.
2. Mind – Develop Adaptability and Growth
The world is changing fast. The ability to learn, unlearn, and relearn is now essential. Men who embrace new skills, industries, and ways of thinking will thrive. Developing emotional intelligence—once dismissed as unimportant—is now a key leadership trait.
3. Soul – Find Meaning Beyond Work
Many men have tied their identity to their job. But with industries shifting, work alone is not enough. Purpose can come from mentorship, creativity, community service, or personal projects. Having a passion beyond a your salary can lead to a more fulfilling life
4. Purpose – Define Your Own Success
Traditional markers of success—status, income, and job titles—are being rewritten. The men who will thrive are those who define success on their own terms. Ask yourself: What do you value? What do you want to build? Who do you want to become?
5. Connection – Build Real Relationships
Social media and messaging apps cannot replace deep friendships. Men need real-world spaces to connect, support each other, and grow. Loneliness is a silent killer—finding brotherhood is essential. Connect with those you care about, and can be open with. Do it regularly. Be honest and open.
The Future is Yours—If You Take Control
Male roles are evolving, but that doesn’t mean you have to feel lost. You have the power to adapt, grow, and redefine what success means on your own terms.
